Henninger Flats Campground is located in Altadena up in the San Gabriel Mountains. Elevation is 2,600 feet above sea level. The only way to get up to the campgrounds is to hike it up.
Henninger Flats sits on a landing above steep mountain slopes, which means it delivers knockout panoramic views over the west end of the San Gabriel Valley. There are picnic tables, grills, and drinking water on Henninger Flats, so if you brought picnic supplies, you’re in for a treat. At Henninger Flats, there is much to explore, including several side roads and paths through the shade. Explore the visitor center and the exhibits. There are 3 main camping areas for overnight use but you must bring your own water.

The information given above is for Eaton Canyon Nature Center which does not have a campground or a second waterfall!!!! If you are a Los Angeles resident and want to experience the outdoors while still having the comforts of being close to home then this is your place! The hike up to Henninger flats is pretty strenuous so be prepared to bring beverages to restore your electrolytes!

Henninger Flats Trail is a 5.5 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Pasadena, California that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash. Henninger Flats, at 2,600' above sea level, can be seen from the parking lot at Eaton Canyon Park. It is the lowest flat area with conifer trees between the nearest peaks to the northeast.
